I just got back from seeing: Damone, The Sound and Rooney. It was an awesome show. I was accosted by the bathroom guy and sprayed with a noxious amount of cologne, but I survived and the show was excellent. Damone the first band had a very eighties rock kinda feel, the singer had a young Joan Jett just post Runaways mystque about her. And she spit alot on stage The next band The Sounds deffinitely stole the show, with their Blondie/X appeal. The lead singer deffinitely had a Debbie Harry thing going on with a healthy mix of Xene Cervenka (X) and that chick from Missing Persons and she spat at the audience quite a bit, may be swedish thing, but they were way way rad, the keyboardist could kick Jerry Lee Lewis's ass, hate to say it Killer. However, she did not have the stamina of a Ramone, as she took off her leather jacket after song # 2, but hey, we can't all have that dedication. My friend Christie was a little put off from the spitting but I think it was very fresh and needed in this age of Punk wanna be bands...fuck, lets get back to the basics, spit on me, spit on me!!! Besides, it is always good medicine for the soul to see a teeny bopper take a loogey in the face. Amen. Rooney was ok, but not as good as the first two bands, so sorry.
